Santa Ana Woman, 39, Killed On The 15 Freeway Headed To Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have identified a 39-year-old Southern California woman killed in a rollover crash that injured five other people on Interstate 15 heading toward Las Vegas.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said Thursday that Blanca P. Estela of Santa Ana was pronounced dead at the scene after a 2006 Dodge SUV crashed a little after noon Wednesday on northbound I-15 near Sloan.
Trooper Jeremie Elliott says a 9-year-old girl in the vehicle was flown by medical helicopter to University Medical Center in Las Vegas with critical injuries.
Four other people were taken by ambulance to UMC with less serious injuries.
Elliott says investigators found that a rear tire on the SUV failed before the vehicle swerved and rolled over on the freeway shoulder.
