Santa Ana Winds Expected To Keep SoCal Warm, Dry
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Santa Ana winds are forecast to keep Southern California dry and warm through the coming work week.
Winds out of the northeast are forecast to pick up Saturday night, blowing at 15-25 mph in spots below canyons and passes and howling across mountaintops up to about 60 mph.
The National Weather Service issued a high wind watch for the San Gabriel Mountains, effective late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.
Metro area highs will be mostly in the low 70s and a few degrees warmer Sunday. The wind should let up by Monday.
No rain is forecast and highs around Los Angeles are expected to top out in the mid 70s and lower 80s through Friday.
Though December was the second-rainiest on record with about 9 inches of rain, January has been unusually mild and dry so far.
