San Diego Woman, 55, Accused Of Murdering Husband, Teen Daughter

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A San Diego woman was arrested after her husband and 14-year-old daughter were found shot to death in the family's apartment.

Investigators believe the victims were killed early Wednesday and the suspect, Regina Johnson, remained in the home with them until police arrived early Saturday, according to Lt. Kevin Rooney.

Johnson, 55, called a relative in another state and said her husband and daughter were dead, Rooney said. That relative called local law officers, who then contacted San Diego police.

When officers arrived at the second-floor apartment in the San Carlos area, they persuaded Johnson to come outside. They found the bodies when they went inside.

A motive for the shooting was not known.

A relative told investigators that Johnson had been laid off from her job in the financial services industry.

There were no previous calls to law enforcement reporting fights or domestic violence at the home, Rooney said.

Police did not release the names of the deceased. The girl was a high school freshman, the newspaper said.
