San Bernardino Officials Investigate Series Of Arson Fires
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A series of fires, believed to be arson, were reported within an hour of each other Monday morning in a hilly residential area of San Bernardino, officials said.
A total of eight calls were made between 3:25 a.m. and 4:25 a.m. in a four to six block radius in the "Little Mountain" area known for a significant amount of dry seasonal brush.
The first was a grass and debris fire at the rear of a home in the 3300 block of N. G Street. A window was also reportedly broken in the home, according to Jason Serrano of the San Bernardino City Fire Department.
A new RV and a gazebo were also set fire in the 3400 block of N. Litras Drive. Officials estimate $53,000 in damages.
Arson investigators are questioning a person of interest, but no arrests have been made.
