'Safety Vest Bandit' Wanted In Series Of Armed Robberies
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Authorities have released surveillance photos of a man suspected in a dozen robberies throughout Los Angeles County.
The suspect, dubbed the Safety Vest Bandit, has been known to wear a green reflexive safety vest and ball cap in previous heists, according to authorities.
Most recently, he is wanted in connection with a robbery at CVS drug store in Lomita on March 18.
He is also suspected of robbing several Walgreens stores, as well as other CVS locations in Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Carson and Norwalk.
An alert issued by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department described the suspect as black male in his 30s with salt and pepper hair.
He is 6'0" to 6'2" and weighs between 200-250 pounds.
Deputies say he is armed with a semi-automatic weapon and should be considered dangerous.
