Sacramento Kings To Relocate To Anaheim?
(CBS) -- The Sacramento Kings may be coming to Southern California and it may happen soon.
There are multiple reports that indicate the Kings may relocate to Anaheim as early as next season and NBA commissioner David Stern has acknowledged discussions have taken place.
To put it in perspective we would have the following pro teams in a 35 mile radius:
Lakers, Clippers, Kings (NBA), Kings (NHL), Ducks, Dodgers, Angels, Galaxy and Chivas USA!
How's that for a city not known for being a sports town?
In a 5 1/2 month span during the NBA regular season, the area could host 123 home games.. giving the Lakers, Clippers and Kings just 37 trips outside Southern California! Almost every other team will travel 41 times.
The NBA Kings have until March 1st to file the paperwork with the league.
