Rowland Heights Doctor Accused Of Murder Pleads Not Guilty
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Rowland Heights doctor accused in the prescription-drug-overdose deaths of three men pleaded not guilty on Friday.
Hsiu-Ying "Lisa" Tseng is charged with three counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of three patients in their 20s, whom prosecutors said, were healthy males.
Vu Nguyen and Steven Ogle, both 25, and Joseph Rovero III, 22, died allegedly of overdoses between March 2009 and December 2009.
Tseng is the first doctor accused of murder by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for allegedly over-prescribing drugs.
In June, she was ordered to stand trial.
Tseng has been behind bars since her arrest in March.
