Robbery Suspects Nabbed After Chase In West Covina

WEST COVINA, Calif. — Authorities Monday arrested two robbery suspects in a white truck who led them on a chase from Azusa to West Covina.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Capt. Michael Parker says an armed couple robbed the Burro Canyon shooting range in Azusa at 6:38 a.m. Monday and stole firearms, including high-powered rifles.

The chase started near the 60 Freeway and came to an end on Interstate 10 just after 7 a.m.

The suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested on the eastbound side of Interstate 10 at Holt Avenue.

More than two dozen squad cars were involved in the chase across freeways and city streets. Speeds reached up to 100 miles an hour as the pickup weaved through traffic and ran red lights.

Traffic was backing up in the area.
