Riverside Residents Pay Respects To Jodi Arias' Murder Victim
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Residents of Riverside showed up at Travis Alexander's graveside Wednesday to pay their respects to Jodi Arias' murder victim.
Alexander was killed in his home in Mesa, Arizona but he has ties to Southern California. He was raised in Rubidoux and he's buried near his birthplace at the Olivewood Cemetery on Central Avenue.
Throughout Arias' four-month long trial, KCAL's Greg Mills reports people dropped off flowers to the cemetery.
His sister Teresa placed flowers at his grave recently.
But many people who never met Alexander are also paying their respects.
Resident Barbara Simmons also left flowers Wednesday and she never met Alexander."I felt compelled to be here. I felt such a connection with him and his family. Our family had a similar situation and I felt like he was being vilified," said Simmons.
Another resident, Rita Wild, told Mills she followed the trial closely and felt she had to come in Alexander's honor. She left flowers and a balloon.
