Riverside County Animal Shelters Score Big With 'SPAw' Day Adoptions
RIVERSIDE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — More than 170 animals -- mostly dogs and cats -- were adopted at two Riverside County animal shelters Saturday.
Professional groomers volunteered their time, services and products to primp and shampoo the pets so they could look their best and find forever homes.
They called it a "SPAw" day.
The dog photographed in this article had never been groomed before and the groomer reports, "[His hair had] a lot of matting. We're trying to keep his coat as long and cute as possible. He was terrified of the water at first."
The all-day adoption event was held at the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley and the Coachella Velley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms.
