Retired Teacher Accused Of Having Hot Tub Sex With Student, 17, In Hot Water Again
WESTMINSTER (CBS) — Retired school teacher Gay Davidson-Shepard, 59, already accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old male high school student, was charged Friday with violating a protective order.
Officials say Davidson-Shepard sent the alleged victim a text in violation of a restraining order. She pleaded not guilty Friday and posted bail -- $100,000 tacked on to the original bail of $150,000.
Davidson-Shepard and her husband, Daniel Alma Shepard, 62, were arrested in October and both charged with having sexual relations with the underage male in a hot tub at their Huntington Beach home on several occasions.
Authorities accuse the couple of also supplying the teen with alcohol.
When the two had their alleged sexual relationships with the victim Mrs. Shepard taught at Mesa View Middle School in Huntington Beach and Mr. Shepard taught at Westminster High School, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office.
According to prosecutors, the couple began inviting the boy to their home to drink alcohol, play board games and watch movies in March 2009.
The two are also accused of getting the boy to join them naked in a hot tub at their home in April 2009, according to prosecutors, who also allege Gay Davidson-Shepard performed oral sex on the boy and her husband when they got out of the water.
In addition, the couple is accused of having sexual relations with the boy and giving him alcohol on a weekly basis, according to prosecutors.
Daniel Shepard allegedly had sexual relations with the boy until September 2009 and Gay Davidson-Shepard continued to allegedly sexually assault him until December 2009 when the alleged victim turned 18, according to the D.A.'s Office.
Daniel Shepard allegedly asked the boy to email nude photos of himself. The defendant is accused of taking nude photos of the alleged victim.
Daniel Shepard is charged with two felony counts of oral copulation of a minor, a felony count of sodomy with someone under 18, a felony count of possession and control of child pornography and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Davidson-Shepard is charged with three felony counts each of unlawful sex, sodomy with someone under 18, oral copulation of a minor, all felonies, and a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The alleged victim told his mother what happened in March and the mother contacted Westminster police, prosecutors said.
The victim's mother says Mrs. Shephard has made numerous calls to her son and texted as recently as November 28, according to authorities.
