Reports: Kanye West Taken To UCLA Medical Center For Psychiatric Evaluation
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Kanye West was reportedly brought to UCLA Medical Center Monday for a psychiatric evaluation and this comes not long after he canceled his national tour.
Although he has talked about his close relationship with the star before, celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak didn't want to say much Monday night about his client.
He was leaving the same area in Beverly Grove where police and paramedics responded about 1:20 p.m. and reportedly took West to the hospital, TMZ reported. All of this comes on the heels of erratic behavior from West over the weekend.
A source tells CBSLA's Erica Nochlin that West was acting "erratic" on scene.
LAPD first went to the home on North Laurel Avenue for a disturbance call. Police say it turned into a medical emergency.
On Saturday, West gave a political speech at his concert in Sacramento then left the concert abruptly after only a few songs. He then canceled the rest of his national tour, including a Los Angeles show at the Forum in Inglewood.
West's publicists didn't return our calls for comment.
A neighbor says he saw the West commotion.
"I had to imagine something was going on with him but you know with Kanye, you never know what's a PR stunt and what's real," David Abed said.
According to several reports, his wife Kim Kardashian didn't show up to a New York charity event Monday night.
