Report: 'NCIS' Star Michael Weatherly Cast As Young Dr. Phil In Proposed TV Drama
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Variety is reporting that CBS has found its young Dr. Phil.
"NCIS" star Michael Weatherly (he's played special agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo for all the show's 13 seasons) announced earlier this year that he was leaving the hit CBS drama.
At that time, CBS also announced they were signing the popular Weatherly to an exclusive deal which included starring in a future pilot.
The pilot -- "Bull" -- will center around Weatherly as "Dr. Bull,"inspired by talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw's early career.
In the pilot, Dr. Bull advises law firms on how to develop defense strategies, according to Variety.
Dr. Phil co-wrote the "Bull" pilot, Variety reports.
