Report: Lakers Meeting With Orlando To Talk Howard Trade; Attends Dodgers Game
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be in the best position to deal for Dwight Howard.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers are meeting with Orlando Magic officials to discuss a trade that would bring the 26-year-old to Los Angeles.
It is believed the Lakers would offer center Andrew Bynum.
The parameters of the deal are reportedly agreed upon, but the deal appears to be contingent on Howard's willingness to sign a contract extension with the Lakers.
Howard, 26, is in Los Angeles and attended the Dodgers' game Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Houston Rockets had been the front runners to acquire Howard, but are now on the verge of signing point guard Jeremy Lin.
In other Lakers news, the team is working out Jermaine O'Neal today in Las Vegas and could add him along with Antawn Jamison to the bench.
