Report: Kardashian Family Looks To Launch New Magazine
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Kardashian Weekly? The Daily Kardashian? Such a publication may be on a newsstand near you as early as this spring if the reality TV family gets their way.
The New York Post's Page Six reports that the Kardashian family is about to make a deal with American Media Inc., owner of publications like Star, The National Enquirer and Shape, to launch a glossy magazine dedicated to the family.
The Kardashian Klan – sorry, clan – has been a tabloid staple for years, and coverage of the family only increased since Kim Kardashian's short-lived marriage with NBA basketball player Kris Humphries.
The report says the Kardashian girls plan to be heavily involved in the editorial content of the proposed magazine. Kris Jenner, the clan's matriarch, reportedly won't don the editor-in-chief cap, but will be heavily involved in the project.
This won't be the family's first foray into publishing their own news. Just about every member of the Kardashian family has their own Twitter account, often used to promote sponsors and advertisers. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe also each keep a Celebuzz blog, posting family news, pictures and other happenings.
