Ducks Ink Ryan To $25 Million Deal
ANAHEIM (AP/CBS) --The Anaheim Ducks have signed left wing Bobby Ryan to a 5-year/$25.5 million contract, keeping the high-scoring American forward with the club through 2014-15.
Anaheim announced the deal Tuesday with Ryan, who scored a career-high 61 points for the Ducks last season, just his second full year in the NHL.
The 23-year-old Ryan led the Ducks with 35 goals last season, second among U.S.-born players to New Jersey's Zach Parise. He also played for the American team at the Vancouver Olympics, winning a silver medal.
The deal puts the Ducks' entire core under contract for at least the next three seasons. Forwards Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry already are locked into long-term deals with Anaheim, which missed the playoffs last season.
