Report: 1 In 4 Young Adults Are Binge Drinkers
ATLANTA (CBS) — Federal health officials say twenty-five percent of young adults in the U.S. report they engaged in binge drinking within the past 30 days, federal health officials say.
A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta says annually 33 million adults ages 18-34 have reported binge drinking, which in this report is defined as four or more drinks for women and five or more drinks for men over a short period of time, usually within a couple of hours.

If gone unchecked, excessive drinking can lead to serious health complications such as liver and heart disease, stroke and other chronic diseases, along with the risk of unplanned pregnancy.
