Religious Studies Professor Authors New Book
STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Dr. Karen Derris, a professor of religious studies at the University of Redlands, appeared on KCAL9 News on Saturday morning with information about her new book titled, "The Heart is Noble."
Derris said the book came out of a course in which she took 16 of her students from the University of Redlands to India to study with the seventeenth Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, who is one of the leading Buddhist figures today.
Derris has just returned from a three-week trip to India.
