Reese Witherspoon To Receive 'Walk Of Fame' Star
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon will receive the 2,425th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday.
James L. Brooks, who directed and wrote the script for Witherspoon's new film, "How Do You Know," will join her at the ceremony, which is set to begin at 11 a.m. in front of the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard.
Born March 22, 1976, in New Orleans and raised in Nashville, Tenn., Witherspoon won the 2005 best actress Academy Award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line." She also won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for the performance.
Witherspoon began her career in 1990, after attending an open casting call for "The Man in the Moon." She ended up being cast in the lead role of Dani Trant, a 14-year-old country girl who falls in love with her 17-year-old neighbor.
Witherspoon's other film credits include: "Legally Blonde," "Election," "Vanity Fair," "Pleasantville," "Cruel Intentions" "Sweet Home Alabama," "Just Like Heaven," "Rendition," "Penelope," "Freeway," "Twilight" and "Four Christmases."
Witherspoon portrays a former softball player trying to decide between two men (Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson) in "How Do You Know," out Dec. 17.
