Redondo Beach Firefighters Shoot Music Video For Kitchen Remodel Campaign
REDONDO BEACH (CBS) — Firefighters are pleading with Southern Californians to please vote for them in a contest for a kitchen remodel, or they might continue to produce cringe-worthy music videos like the one they posted to YouTube this week.
The firefighters of Redondo Beach Fire Station #1 have been campaigning hard for votes in the Rescue Remodel sweepstakes sponsored by Ikea. It's the fire station's last resort for a new kitchen, after years of saving money only to see it be spent on other pressing needs.
The music video, uploaded to YouTube Thursday, features one firefighter lip syncing to a song called "We Cook Our Food In A Hopeless Place," based on "We Found Love" by Rihanna. The other firefighters are featured dancing….sometimes in stools, other times with pots and pans.
The fire station, which was in last place in the contest last week, now has the third most votes, just behind Palos Fire Protection District Station #1 in Palos Park, Ill. and Yonkers Engine Co. 306 in Yonkers, NY.
