Red Cross, Farmers Insurance Hope To Set Record For CPR Training Friday
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The American Red Cross and Farmers Insurance are teaming up Friday afternoon downtown Los Angeles to establish a record for largest Citizens CPR training.
The public is invited to attend along with city dignitaries who will all learn how to perform hands-only CPR on special manikins.
The event -- part of the Red Cross' "PrepareSoCal" campaign -- will be held at Grand Park across from City Hall (200 N. Spring Street). It starts at 11 a.m. and runs through 2 p.m. (The training begins at noon - 12:30 p.m.)
"Citizens CPR is a skill that can save a life – yours, a family member, a neighbor or a stranger. Together with Farmers Insurance, we are pleased to offer this Citizens CPR training to as many people as possible," said Paul Schulz, CEO of the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region.
KROQ is providing live music. A food truck (Sushi Burrito) will also be on site.
Event organizers said there will be free gifts as well as raffle prizes.
