1 Dead After Stalled Car Is Rear-Ended On 405 Freeway
LONG BEACH (CBS) — A woman was killed when her Mercedes-Benz stalled and was rear-ended by another car on a freeway in Long Beach, the California Highway Patrol reported Friday.
Vanessa Fulladosa, 23, of Palmdale, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the left lane of the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway, officials said.
Fulladosa's 1997 Mercedes became disabled in far left lane, and she called 911 to report her location. Moments later, her car was rear-ended by a 2010 Mitsubishi Galant driven by a 34-year-old Long Beach man, the CHP reported.
The Mitsubishi was going about 65 mph when it hit the Mercedes. The Mitsubishi driver "failed to observe the 1997 Mercedes stopped in front of him and collided into its rear," the CHP reported.
