Rapid Transit Line Breaks Ground In San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) — A $192 million bus rapid transit line broke ground Thursday in San Bernardino.
Officials say the line is a first of its kind in the region and will provide premium transportation and boost economic opportunities from San Bernardino to Loma Linda.
There will be 16 stations with off site ticketing, and large clean air buses, all at the cost of a regular bus.
The two-year project will create approximately 220 construction jobs.
Construction on the route will begin in October.
