Rams' First Hire Was College Student Who Camped Out Overnight For Job Fair

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — When the Rams announced they were holding a job fair in July, Jahman Ingram didn't just show up -- the Inglewood resident showed up the night before, and was first in line.

"I got here at about 11 o'clock last night because I knew I had to be the first one to get a job," Ingram, 23, said in July.

His strong desire to land a job worked to his advantage.

After a brief interview, Ingram was hired to work as event staff at home Rams games.

With the team relocating to Los Angeles this year, Ingram can plausibly claim to be the LA Ram's first hire since the move. (He's also picked up shifts working at USC home football games, as well as some events at the Forum).

The event staff job includes helping fans find their seats at the Coliseum. It fits Ingram's outgoing personality.

"The best part about it is being able to talk to people on a normal level and everyday basis," he said.

The part time schedule also works with his schedule as a college student, he said.

While some students would bemoan balancing a college course load with weekend work, Ingram said he's grateful for the opportunity to land a job with his hometown team.

"Working for the Rams is a blessing because theres not very many things to do out here," he said. "There are so many people and being able to be the first person to get the job with the Rams is just a whole entire blessing."
