Pujols Will Reportedly Sign $250M Contract With Los Angeles Angels
LOS ANGELES (CBS) —The Angels entered the Pujols sweepstakes earlier this week, but at the time, it seemed more likely that he would end up in Miami or back with the Cardinals.
With the Marlins now apparently out of the mix, the Angels stepped up their pursuit of the prize free agent.
Pujols has played his entire career with the Cardinals, putting together a resume that includes a .328 average, 445 home runs and 1,329 RBIs.
Mark Gubicza, a member of the Anaheim Angels broadcast team and himself a former major league pitcher and World Series champion, told KNX 1070 the price may have been steep, but Pujols is worth every million.

"When you look at historically his numbers compared to the all-time greats, he matches up with them if not better," said Gubicza, who called the acquisition "basically a done deal".
