Public's Help Sought In Search For Huntington Beach Groping Suspect
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Huntington Beach police are asking for the public's help in the search for a suspect who groped a woman earlier this month.
Authorities, who released a composite sketch of the suspect Thursday, say the incident occurred near Bolsa Chica Road and Warner Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. October 3.
The victim said she was grabbed from behind by a male assailant with a handgun who covered her mouth and ordered her not to scream.
Huntington Beach Police Lt. Mitch O'Brien told City News Service there was a struggle, during which both fell to the ground, at which point the woman fled.
O'Brien said the suspect groped the victim before she ran off.
The suspect is described as a male in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet seven inches tall with a medium build.
The victim said the suspect was wearing blue jeans and a black, short-sleeved shirt with white and blue designs during the attack.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 375-5066 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
