Public's Help Sought In Search For Home-Invasion Suspects
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A local couple is asking for the public's help in the search for two home invasion suspects who allegedly stole thousands of dollars of heirloom jewelry.
Jacob Tsimanis says he was beaten by a man while another man ransacked his home in the Fairfax District at around 4:30 a.m.
The 63-year-old told CBS2's Brittney Hopper he was up early and went outside, and when he walked back into his home to close his front door, two men barged in and started beating him up.
"I was worried about my wife. For me, that was the most important thing — that she would be safe," he said.
His wife, who was sleeping in their bedroom, heard screaming.
"I had no idea if my husband was okay," Mrs. Tsimanis said.
The couple says the two suspects demanded money and Mr. Tsimanis offered them his wallet.
The suspects then allegedly went into their bedroom and stole a jewelry box, including irreplaceable heirloom pieces.
"I had items that which I wanted my daughter to have ... and my grandkids. But I don't have it. I really feel violated," Mrs. Tsimanis said.
LAPD detectives say this is an active investigation. If you have any information, you're asked to call LAPD.
