Public Memorial Service For Jenni Rivera Will Be In Universal City
UNIVERSAL CITY (CBSLA.com) — Family of Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera announced Monday that a public memorial service for the star will be held at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City.
Rev. Pedro Rivera Jr., Rivera's brother, will lead the ceremony, which is scheduled to take place Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Rivera, a Long Beach native, died Dec. 9 after a small plane carrying her and six others crashed in northern Mexico soon after take-off.
The 43-year-old mother of five's burial service will be held privately, the family said in a statement.
Rivera's family requested that fans make donations to the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation.
