Protest Against Police Brutality Held In Downtown LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police brutality opponents marched in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday as part of the annual National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality.
A protest, which was organized by the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Olympic Boulevard and Broadway, officials said.
Participants will then march at 2:30 p.m. north on Broadway, east on Temple Street, south on Judge John Aiso Street and west of First Street where it will end at 100 W. First St. in front of the Los Angeles Police Department headquarters.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area between 2 and 6 p.m., the LAPD said.
Wednesday's event will be one of more than five dozen marches that are planned across the country.
