Prosecutors Won't Charge Lakers' Barnes For Fiancee Fight
SACRAMENTO (AP) — Sacramento prosecutors won't file charges against Los Angeles Lakers player Matt Barnes over an alleged altercation with his fiancee over the summer.
The District Attorney's office said Monday that there wasn't enough evidence to file domestic violence charges against him.
Barnes' attorney, Tom Johnson, said prosecutors made the right decision.
Barnes was arrested Sept. 8 after deputies responded to a disconnected 911 call from his home. Sheriff's deputies said they found visible injuries on his fiancee, Gloria Govan.
Govan later denied the accusation, saying Barnes never physically abused her.
