A teenager was killed and several others were wounded during a shooting at a party in Signal Hill on Saturday.

The shooting happened just before 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of E. Burnett Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officers with the Signal Hill Police Department were first to respond to the scene, where they found seven teenagers, three male and four female, suffering from gunshot wounds. 

LASD deputies who were contacted to assist with the investigation say that the victims were between 17 and 19 years old. 

Three of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals where one, a 17-year-old girl, later died. She has not yet been identified. 

Deputies say that people at the party scattered from the location after the shooting.
