President Signs Bill Renaming Crenshaw Post Office After Mayor Bradley
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — President Barack Obama Wednesday signed a bill renaming the Crenshaw Post Office for former Mayor Tom Bradley.
"I am pleased that the president signed this bill to rename the Crenshaw Post Office in honor of a person who dedicated his life to public service," said Rep. Diane E. Watson, D-Los Angeles, who authored H.R. 5450.
"The Tom Bradley Post Office will serve as a testament to his unprecedented years of dedication to the city of Los Angeles."
A renaming ceremony will be held at the post office at 3894 Crenshaw Blvd. in Leimert Park on Nov. 6.
Bradley was Los Angeles' mayor from 1973 to 1993. He died in 1998.
