Predator Wanted For Annoying 2 Girls In El Monte
EL MONTE (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Friday in identifying a man they say has been trying to get young girls to get into his car in El Monte.
El Monte police say two girls reported being contacted by a man as they walked to and from school Wednesday.
The latest incident happened at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, as a girl walked home from Gidley Elementary School, 10226 Lower Azusa Road. The girl told police a man drove his vehicle alongside her and sexually propositioned her.
At one point, he stopped, got out of the car and approached the girl, who got scared and ran away. The man then got back in his car and drove away.
Earlier that day, at about 7 a.m., another girl was approached by a man in a similar vehicle as she walked in the 12000 block of Elliott Avenue, across from Parkview Elementary School. He offered the girl a ride repeatedly, scaring the girl, who ran on foot into Parkview Elementary and notified school staff.
The suspect drove away in an unknown direction.
He was described as a Hispanic man between 25 and 29 years old, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, with black hair, dark eyes, a light complexion and a medium build. His car was described as a 4-door, tan colored, late model Honda or Toyota that appeared "dirty," unkempt and with tinted windows.
The vehicle had several stickers on the rear windshield and the man may be living out of it.
