Powerball Jackpot Climbs To $80 M
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — No one hit Powerball Saturday.
The jackpot will climb to an estimated $80 million for Wednesday's draw.
Numbers drawn Saturday night were 2, 13, 35, 36, 52 and the Powerball number was 11.
Meanwhile, California Lottery officials said no one hit SuperLotto Plus either.
The jackpot for Wednesday's prize in that contest will rise to $29 million.
Three tickets matched 5/5 but failed to hit the Mega number. Each of those tickets is worth $15,912. One was sold in Rosemead (Said's Mobil, 939 N. San Gabriel Blvd. 91770) and the other two were sold in Fresno and Pacifica.
Numbers picked in the SuperLotto Plus game were 2, 18, 20, 21, 45 with the Mega number 24.
Sixteen ticket holders had four numbers and the Mega and each of those tickets is worth $1,491.
In the Mega Millions game, the current jackpot stands at $12 million.
The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Draws for the $1 game are Tuesdays and Fridays. The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $12 million and climbs every time there is no winner. The record jackpot went to $656 million in March 2012.
Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Draws for the $2 game are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Powerball starts at $40 million. The record jackpot reached $590 million in May 2013.
California's SuperLotto Plus also has draws on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The game costs $1 and the prize starts at $7 million. The record jackpot was $193 million in February 2002.
