Pot Farm Busted In Valencia
VALENCIA (CBS) — Sheriff's detectives raided a Valencia home Tuesday seizing 282 marijuana plants and arresting one person.
Detectives said they were acting on a tip from a neighbor to bust Jesus Pedroza, 22.
He was arrested at a home in the 25300 block of Via Telino on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, possession of cocaine for sale and possession of methamphetamine for sale, as well as theft of utilities, according to Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.
Cabra said the home's electrical meter had been bypassed to provide the power needed for grow lights, air conditioning and watering systems inside the home.
Officials said the home was in poor condition, with a mattress for sleeping in the downstairs living room and open trash cans filled with chemicals used to feed the plants upstairs, she said.
