Pot Dispensary Burglary Suspect Gets Trapped In Building's Roof
SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — A suspected pot dispensary burglar was rescued by Los Angeles police—and then promptly arrested—after he fell through the building's roof and got trapped early Tuesday morning.
Jared Escando, 26, of San Pedro, was arrested for commercial burglary and booked into the LAPD's 77th Street Station. His bail was set at $20,000, according to the sheriff's inmate information website.
Around 3:10 a.m., police got a call from a person who heard a man screaming for help inside the dispensary at 4th and Gaffey streets in San Pedro, according to Lt. John Pasquariello.
Pasquariello said the suspect had entered the building through the roof.
"Unfortunately for him, he dropped through the roof into a secured area. We un-trapped him," he said.
The suspect was treated for his injuries.
