Portions Of PCH To Close For McClure Tunnel Maintenance Work
SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Starting Sunday, portions of the Pacific Coast Highway will be closed to allow crews to make repairs inside McClure Tunnel.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) says the northbound lanes of PCH at Ocean Boulevard will be closed both Sunday and Monday from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
On both Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., the southbound PCH at 4th Street will be shut along with the westbound 4th Street on-ramp to the westbound Interstate 10, according to Caltrans spokesperson Patrick Chandler.
Chandler says detour signs are expected to be in place.
Built in 1935, pavement inside McClure Tunnel has been shifting and/or sinking in some spots for several years, according to City News Service.
