Portion Of 101 Freeway In Woodland Hills Closed After Suspicious Device Found

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A portion of the Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills was shut down Wednesday as officials investigated a suspicious device.

Authorities received a call at 8:12 a.m. after a Caltrans worker reportedly found a capped pipe on the shoulder of the freeway near Woodlake Drive.

All lanes were shut down at 9:31 a.m. between Mulholland Drive/Valley Circle Boulevard and Shoup Avenue as police investigated.

The device was detonated just before 10:45 a.m. and all lanes were reopened about 20 minutes later, according to the California Highway Patrol.
