Police: Wife, Firefighter Lover Conspired To Murder Her Husband In Redlands
REDLANDS (CBSLA.com) — Two people have been arrested in the killing of a Redlands man in what authorities said was the result of a love triangle.
Officials identified the two people arrested in the death of Robert Limon as the victim's wife and her lover.
CBS2's Tom Wait talked to a stunned neighbor of the alleged lover.
"Very shocked. ... I'm very shocked," said the neighbor.
Police on Wednesday said 24-year-old Redlands firefighter/paramedic Jonathan Hearn and Sabrina Limon, the victim's wife and mother of his two young children, conspired and carried out the murder of Robert Limon.
Hearn's neighbor is in disbelief.
"Mom and dad very loveable, Christian family. There's no way that he would have done anything like that."
The arrests come about three months after Robert Limon was found shot to death in Tehachapi.
Limon was a rail worker with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. His body was found on Aug. 17 in the railyard complex several hours after his shift ended.
Police released security camera video hoping it would break open the case. It shows an unidentified person walking through the BNSF complex around the time of the killing.
"Hopefully somebody in the community will recognize the person of interest and we can talk to that person," Ray Pruitt, the Kern County Public Information Officer, said in August.
Hearn has been a firefighter in Redlands since 2012. Police won't say what led to his arrest, but they say their investigation uncovered that Hearn and Limon were having an affair.
Investigators would not say how Hearn and Limon met, but both lived in the high desert, Wait reported.
Police say Hearn carried out the shooting at the rail shop and Limon conspired with him. Officials said she tried covering up the crime using social media posts.
"Through this pain and unbelievable tragedy, Rob's love continues on," one post said.
"God blessed US with Rob for the time he did and the love he gave was more than some ever will feel or show. I will never let Rob's love die or fade out," said another.
At Hearn's home Wednesday evening, someone was home but would not speak to Wait.
"He was not one of those kids that would go party or go get into trouble. Very quiet," the neighbor said.
Sabrina Limon now faces life in prison, as does Hearn.
