Police Shoot, Wound Allegedly Armed Suspect In San Pedro
SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday said a man was wounded in an officer-involved shooting in the South Bay.
LAPD Detective Gus Villanueva says Harbor Patrol officers responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 1200 block of West 15th Street in San Pedro when the encounter occurred.
"They were starting to make their way into the residence or by the residence at which point they encountered a man. He was armed and at that point an officer-involved shooting occurred," Villanueva said.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. No officers were hurt.
It was not immediately clear how many officers opened fire. An investigation is under way.
