Kidnapping Suspect Arrested Near Burbank Mall
BURBANK (CBSLA.com ) — Police arrested a pursuit suspect in Burbank, authorities said Friday.
The suspect allegedly kidnapped his 21-year-old girlfriend Thursday, according to an LAPD spokesperson.
The victim called police for help this morning from a gas station at La Tuna Canyon and Sunland Avenue in Sun Valley, police said.
When officers arrived, the suspect fled and a pursuit took place, according to police. The suspect led officers to Third Street and Cypress Avenue in Burbank, where he got out of the vehicle and fled.
Officers were seen searching for the suspect inside a parking structure outside the Burbank Town Center mall. He was arrested a short time later
A Burbank police sergeant said the kidnapping suspect was found under some clothing in a prop room at the nearby Colony Theatre, KNX 1070's Claudia Peschiutta reported.
The victim was reported safe and in police custody.His identity and charges have not yet been released.
