Police Search For Suspect In Moreno Valley Bank Robbery

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Deputies are looking for a man who robbed an Inland Empire bank and left a suspicious device behind.

Bomb squad experts say the item, which was left on a coffee table, was later deemed safe.

The armed robber held up two employees as they were opening a Chase bank branch at Fir Avenue and Nason Street around 8:30 a.m., according to police.

The suspect, who was wearing a ski mask, stole an unknown amount of money and took both employees' car keys.

He then drove a white Honda Civic belonging to one of them and abandoned it a few blocks away near a Walmart store.

The FBI is on scene helping with the investigation.

The male suspect is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, a black mask, military-style cargo pants and boots.

No injuries were reported.
