Police: Someone Set Fire To Bench Where Homeless Man Was Sleeping
ANAHEIM (AP) — Anaheim police say someone set fire to a bus bench where a homeless man was sleeping and they are investigating it as a case of attempted murder.
Sgt. Bob Dunn said officers responded to a report of fire around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
Witnesses told police that a passerby stopped and woke up the 53-year-old man before he was burned by the flames. He was not hurt.
Police said evidence at the scene indicates the fire was intentionally set.
There have been no arrests.
