Police Search For 3rd Victim, Suspects In Montclair Execution Murders
MONTCLAIR (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday were looking for a third victim after two men were found with their mouths duct taped and shot execution-style in a San Bernardino County garage.
Officers were dispatched to the 11000 block of Monte Vista Avenue in Montclair around 6:45 p.m. Sunday in response to a shots fired call.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the two victims face-down and dead in the home's detached garage, which was used as an auto repair shop, police said.
Both of the deceased were Latinos in their 30s.
Witnesses reported seeing a third victim running from the scene with his hands tied behind his back. That man also reportedly had duct tape covering his mouth and was bleeding from the neck.
"We did have a blood hound tracking him, and whether he got into a car or somebody provided assistance, we don't know. We're still checking with area hospitals to see if he may turn up there," Sgt. Bryon Kelly said.
Witnesses also said they saw a dark-colored sedan driving away from the scene.
A preliminary investigation has not revealed a motive or if the crime was gang-related or a robbery.
"Clearly it was something that was targeted. It wasn't something that was random," Sgt. Kelly said.
The suspects are believed to be Hispanic men between the ages of 20 to 30 years old.
Anyone with information should call the Montclair Police Department (909)621-4771.
