Police Say 13-Year-Old Boy Sexually Assaulted 8-Year-Old Cousin
SANTA ANA (CBS) — A 13-year-old Orange County boy was taken into custody Sunday for sexually assaulting his 8-year-old cousin, police reported.
Authorities said the boy spent the night at the girl's house in Santa Ana. The next morning the girl's mother reportedly realized something had happened and took the girl to the hospital.
Hospital officials reportedly called police to report a sexual assault.
"Because of the information they obtained in the interview with the 13-year-old, and the act that he's being accused of committing, he was booked into Juvenile Hall," said Santa Ana Police Spokesman Anthony Bertagna.
The boy was booked at Juvenile Hall on charges of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor.
