Young Father Killed, 2 Men Injured In Shooting At Pomona Mobile Home Park
POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A young father was killed and two other men were injured Tuesday after a shooting at a mobile home park in Pomona.
The incident was reported around 7:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of E. Mission Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Neighbor Elizabeth Estrada said she heard what sounded like a gun battle.
"I heard like nine shots very loud," she said. "I was sleeping, so I was scared and my daughters too."
A 20-year-old father was pronounced dead at the scene.
"He used to provide for his son and girlfriend, and she's pregnant again," said Doreen Herrera, a friend of the victim's family.
"A great father — funny," friend Nick Perez recalled. "He was good."
Two other men were transported by helicopter to a trauma center with critical injuries.
Police say they were looking for at least one suspect. No possible motive or suspect description was released.
