Police: Man Was Drinking Before He Impaled Leg On Hollywood Hills Fence

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An intoxicated man who apparently climbed up a wall in an upscale Hollywood Hills neighborhood to take in the scenic view was impaled on a wrought iron fence early Friday.

The unidentified male's right leg was impaled on the fence along 1236 N. Sierra Alta Way, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched at around 12:15 a.m. and quickly moved to sever the section of the fence before transporting the man with the piece of wrought iron still attached to his leg, according to reports.

He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Police said the man had been drinking and hoped to get a better view of the city skyline before he fell onto the fence.

It was unclear whether any charges would be filed.
