Woman Found Fatally Shot In Carport Behind Pomona Apartment Complex
POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A woman was found fatally shot Monday in a carport behind an apartment complex in Pomona.
Pomona police received several "shots fired" 911 calls around 2:55 a.m. in the 700 block of San Francisco Avenue, authorities said.
Officers discovered the victim, described as a Hispanic woman 30 to 40 years old, with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman who wished to be unidentified said the gunfire woke up her and her husband.
"Just before 3 [a.m.], I heard four gunshots and called 911. I told [police] that a car had taken off down the street; a loud car," she said.
Residents told KCAL9's Greg Mills that they didn't recognize the victim, and she didn't live in the apartment building.
No suspect information was released.
