Police In Van Nuys Hunt Coin Thief Dubbed 'The Sexy Robber'
VAN NUYS (CBS) — Robbers have been described many ways before: brazen, fearless, cunning, nervous...come immediately to mind.
But sexy?
Police have dubbed a female bandit who allegedly robbed a coin shop Monday as "The Sexy Robber."
The high-heeled woman made off with thousands of dollars in coins from the shop near Sepulveda and Burbank Boulevards before 11 a.m.
Officials said she pulled a revolver out of her purse and told an employee to fill her bag with coins, according to LA Police Detective Glenn O'Shea of the Van Nuys division.
Her take was estimated to be worth between $12,000 and $100,000.
The coin shop buys and sells gold and silver coins and jewelry.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 5 inches, 125 pounds and in her 20s.
She may also have a tattoo on her right shoulder.
No description of a getaway car was available.
