Suspect Leads Officers On High-Speed Pursuit With Child On Board; Ends Peacefully In Anaheim
ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) —Authorities detained four people Friday who led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed pursuit through multiple cities with a child inside of the suspect's vehicle.
The pursuit ended peacefully on the 5 Freeway just before 10:30 p.m. in Anaheim as officers cared for a young boy while the others were taken into custody.
According to authorities, they were in pursuit of a silver Nissan Pathfinder following an alleged traffic violation that started in the area of Bell Gardens.
The pursuit, which began on the northbound 5 Freeway near the 91 Freeway, was first reported just before 9 p.m.
The suspect was initially wanted in connection with a traffic violation involving speed, authorities said.
The chase reached speeds of 90 miles per hour and no injuries were reported.
The pursuit lasted nearly two hours.
